Kerry Nelson’s booming voice rings through the halls of the department revealing his history of coaching and encouraging athletes across countless gyms and practice fields. He spent 10 years teaching and coaching at East Noble High School before starting his career at USF. He holds a secondary teaching license in Physical Education, and an MS in Exercise Science: Injury Prevention and Performance Enhancement. He is also certified as a strength coach by the NSCA. In addition to a full teaching schedule, Kerry manages the Hutzell Fitness Center and volunteers his time as a strength coach for several USF teams. He and his wife and their two boys are avid hikers, travelers, and Nerf warriors.
