The Department of Kinesiology and Nutrition at the University of Saint Francis facilitates learning by promoting lifelong physical fitness and fostering healthy behaviors. In the classroom, you will practice preventive medicine techniques and discuss controversial health concepts.
Programs offered by the Department of Kinesiology and Nutrition are designed to prepare you for a variety of careers related to health, exercise science and nutrition. You will become well-versed in critical, controversial and traditional topics including care and prevention of injury in the physically active, kinesiology, exercise physiology, liability terminology, fitness conditioning, health planning and health promotion.
Health and Exercise Science courses will prepare you for a career in community health education, public health, fitness training and management, or other health-related fields. You can tailor your studies to your specific career goals by selecting a concentration in community health promotion, wellness and fitness, or exercise science.
Nutrition courses provide opportunities that will prepare you to practice health promotion, clinical nutrition, food service management, research and development in food nutrition, health and nutrition marketing, and community education.
The Department of Kinesiology and Nutrition also supports the Secondary Health and Physical Education degree program, providing opportunities to expand your knowledge of constantly changing health concepts in preparation for a career as a professional teacher focusing on personal fitness.
